Red Robin

This spot for Red Robin, featuring their $10 Gourmet Meal Deal, delivers the perfect balance of heroic burgers and authentic performances. The creative for this spot allowed for plenty of technical play and exploration well before the shoot began. For one, our Director-DP, Erik Dettle, created a digital previz of the burger trio shot (click to the right to check that out) that gave the agency and client a sense of how the camera would track along each of our three hero burgers. We presented the agency with the first iteration of the previz several weeks before our shoot, allowing plenty of time to workshop compositions and camera moves. This process was integral to shot development, as we were able to dial in the design and timing to prioritize our burgers and fit the timing of our edit. This saved us time on set and assured that client, agency, and crew were all on the same page. In addition, the Coke shot gave us an opportunity to take our robot "Ulysse" out for a literal spin. It rotated around the glass, showing off all of the beautiful condensation and bubbles rising to the top, right before our trio of friends dove into their tempting burgers.
